Zynga's stock dips in first day
Social-network gamer Zynga saw its stock slump 5% on Friday, its first day of trading, to close at $9.50, an unspectacular debut for a company that's a leader in its space with the three biggest games on Facebook, "CityVille," "CastleVille" and "FarmVille."The shares fell another few cents in late trading. The overall market's been cranky, and some analysts worry about Zynga's near total dependence on Facebook, where it generates more than 90% of its revenue. But others say it's one of the few ways to play Facebook as an investor, at least until the giant social network goes public itself likely sometime next year. Fans of Zynga, founded in 2007 by Mark Pincus, also like its business model and prospects. "Unlike TV, social games can be played anywhere on the planet that you have Internet access," said Richard Greenfield of BTIG, who initiated his coverage of Zynga with a buy rating. He sees the company launching more games across more platforms. It's especially well placed to promote new games through its current ones.Post IPO, Zynga's got cash to invest in its business. The shares were priced at $10 for the initial public offering, bringing in more than $1 billion in fresh capital.Greenfield estimates revenue could rise from $1.17 billion this year to $1.5 billion in 2012 and $1.7 billion in 2013.Naysayer Arvind Bhatia of Sterne Agee started coverage with "underperform" on fears that growth is slowing and the stock could fall to $7. Flagship game "FarmVille" has peaked, he said, and the other titles are coming online at a much slower pace. Other top games include "Mafia Wars" and "Zynga Poker." The games are all free; the company makes its money mostly from advertising and sponsorships and through in-game virtual purchases. Its IPO material said it has an average of about 230 million active monthly users."I think it's a great company and brilliant in many respects," said one media investor. "But they do have a problem with dependence on Facebook, and that they always need new games to attract attention" -- an issues all gamemakers face. He's also not a fan of the various classes of stock, with super-voting shares and control firmly in the hands of insiders.Describing itself on its own website, the company says, "Zynga wants to give the world permission to play. Every day, we connect people on seven continents and deliver a dose of don't take yourself so seriously." It hopes Wall Street will. Contact the Variety newsroom at news@variety.com

New on DVD & Blu-ray, Week of Dec. 13: 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' 'Fright Night,' 'Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame'
Three special effects-laden films hit the home entertainment shelves this week. The first is the prequel 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' with its motion-capture CGI primates; next there's 'Fright Night,' a remake of a cult classic that ups the ante with state-of-the art scares; and finally 'Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame,' Hark Tsui's quirky and action-filled martial arts mystery that uses Sammo Hung's choreography and special effects to mesmerize viewers. Read on. 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' What It's About: Origin story for 'The Planet of the Apes' saga (diverging significantly from the original series 'Escape From the Planet of the Apes' and 'Conquest of the Planet of the Apes'). In this scenario, James Franco stars as Will Rodman, a neuroscientist trying to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease by testing on chimpanzees and giving them a human level of intelligence. After a test subject's baby, Caesar, is orphaned, Will decides to raise him at home on his own with his Alzheimer-stricken father (John Lithgow). What begins as a continuation of his experiment quickly turns into a problem, as Caesar is taken away and forced to live in a primate facility. As Caesar's intelligence continues to grow, he begins to stake his claim as the leader of his new primate counterparts, which will ultimately lead to the rise of the planet of the apes. It's Kinda Like: 'Project X' meets 'Spartacus' What We Say: The photo-realistic apes -- created using Oscar-winning visual effects house WETA Digital's groundbreaking CGI technology that they developed for 'Avatar' -- are the real stars and drawing power of the film; James Franco seems to have telephoned in his performance, while John Lithgow plays more of a somnambulist than an Alzheimer's patient. Kudos go, of course, to Andy Serkis for his role-modeling and acting as the motion-character-captured Caesar. The film moves ahead fairly quickly in its denunciation of humankind's predilection for violence and our reveling in the humiliation of those supposedly less intelligence than us; it's a foregone conclusion that the apes are better humans than we are -- and deserve to overrun the world. The apes running amok in San Francisco is worth the price of admission. • Extras: Deleted scenes, several illuminating behind-the-scenes featurettes. Rotten Tomatoes Reviews | Buy DVD | Save DVD to your Netflix queue Watch an exclusive clip: 'Fright Night' What It's About: Remake of the 1985 gothic horror cult classic. Charley (Anton Yelchin) is a high school senior in a Las Vegas suburb who's on top of the world -- he's running with the popular crowd and dating Amy (Imogen Poots), the most coveted girl in school. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a nice guy -- at first. But there's something not quite right, and no one else, including Charley's mom (Toni Collette) seems to notice. After his classmates start to mysteriously disappear without a trace, Charlie discovers that there is more to his new neighbor than meets the eye -- he's a vampire who has his fangs set on Charley, Amy and mom. It's Kinda Like: 'Let the Right One In' meets 'Rear Window' What We Say: While not quite up to the thrills and excitement of the original (we're a bit more jaded 20 years down the road since Tom Holland's 'Fright Night' jumped out at us), this remake can stand on its own thanks to the bravura performance by Farrell, who has never been creepier. The special effects are, naturally, terrific, and the mood set by director Craig Gillepsie is oppressively spooky. Yet, as in many films of this genre, it's the interludes that falter -- here the typical nerds vs. jocks subplot is just too predictable and corny, and the fake vampire hunter scenario (with a wimpy David Tennant) is just plain silly. Still, it's an enjoyable ride, with some tongue-in-neck (er, cheek) humor and one great rescue scene that will blow you away. • Extras: Deleted scenes, gag reels, and an 'Official How to Make a Funny Vampire Movie' guide. Rotten Tomatoes Reviews | Buy DVD | Save DVD to your Netflix queue Watch a trailer: 'Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame' What It's About: Hark Tsui's action-packed, visually breathtaking Sherlock Holmes-style mystery choreographed by master Sammo Hung, set in an exquisitely realized steampunk version of ancient China. On the eve of her coronation as Empress (Carina Lau), China's most powerful woman is haunted by a chilling murder mystery: Two men in charge of building a gigantic monument to her have burst into flames, leaving behind only black ash and skeletal bones. Recognizing this threat to her power, she turns to the infamous Dee Renjie (Andy Lau), a man whose unparalleled wisdom is matched only by his martial arts skills. Teamed with the Empress' right-hand woman, the martial arts expert Shangguan Jing'er (Bingbing Li), Dee must battle a series of bizarre dangers that eventually lead to a chilling truth that places his life, and the future of the dynasty, in peril. It's Kinda Like: Charlie Chan meets Bruce Lee What We Say: This has been a banner year for Asian period-action films. There's Jackie Chan's '1911,' Benny Chan's 'Shaolin,' Takashi Miike's '13 Assassins' and Woo-ping Yuen's 'True Legend'; now add Hark Tsui's almost mystical 'Detective Dee' actioner set in 690 AD and featuring talking deer, blind fighting, insects that cause people to burst into flames, an underground city of criminals and outcasts, spectacular flying martial arts action (by Sammo Hung), comic relief and a complicated conspiracy and murder mystery -- which all add up to a roller coaster ride that is thoroughly entertaining. 'Detective Dee,' like most Asian films, didn't get a wide theatrical release in the U.S., but grossed north of $52 million worldwide. Buy or rent it (along with the other films mentioned above) today to find out what the rest of the world is watching. • Extras: Several interesting behind-the-scenes featurettes.. Rotten Tomatoes Reviews | Buy DVD | Save DVD to your Netflix queue Watch an exclusive clip: Other New December 13 Releases: 'The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975': (2011) Here's a treasure trove of 16mm material shot by Swedish journalists who came to the U.S. drawn by stories of urban unrest and revolution in the 1960s and who ended up chronicling the Black Power Movement. Gaining access to many of the leaders of the Movement -- Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale, Angela Davis and Eldridge Cleaver among them -- the filmmakers captured them in intimate moments and remarkably unguarded interviews. Thirty years later, this collection was found languishing in the basement of Swedish Television; director Goran Olsson and co-producer Danny Glover brought this footage to light in this remarkable documentary. 'Circumstance': (2011 -- Iran) A provocative coming-of-age story that cracks open the hidden world of Iranian youth. As culture wars and politics define the country, a wealthy Iranian family struggles to contain their personal lives as their children lead a group of friends in Tehran to rebel against the constant oppression. 'Eames: The Architect and the Painter': (2011) Modern design history was born in a cavernous warehouse on a gritty street in Venice Beach, Calif., where Charles and Ray Eames -- best known for their ubiquitous furniture and the signature innovation of the classic Eames chair -- set up their Renaissance-style studio shortly after World War II. This documentary, narrated by James Franco, brings to the screen a cache of archival material, visually stunning films, love letters, photographs and artifacts produced in mind-boggling volume by Charles and Ray with their talented staff during the hypercreative 40-year run of the Eames studio. 'Kung Fu Panda 2': (2011) Violent sequel to 2008's animated hit has panda Po (voice of Jack Black) teaming with his kung fu masters to fend off a move by Lord Shen, heir of the peacock clan that ruled Gongmen City, to conquer China by harnessing the power of fireworks as a weapon. He also holds the secret to Po's past, which Po must embrace and understand before he can ever find the inner peace necessary to stop the villain. The set piece is the wonderfully choreographed final battle of good vs. evil. Check out more December 13 DVD releases at OnVideo. Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook

Burlesque
A Danielle Tarento and also the Adhering Place in colaboration with Jermyn Street Theater presentation of the musical in 2 functions, music by Adam Meggido, book and lyrics by Meggido. Directed by Meggido. Choreography, Cressida Carre musical direction, Duncan Walsh-Atkins. Johnny Reno Jon-Paul Hevey Rags Ryan Chris Holland Freddie Le RoyLinal Haft Lula Malkah Buster Skeggs Honey Hogan Alicia Davies Georgia Mitchell Sinead Mathias Amy Delamero Victoria Serra Bill Henry Alex Bartram Saul Sunday Jeremiah Harris-WardNone of the numerous previous stage and movie remedies from the plight of stars facing the home Not-American Activities Committee has utilized the setting of the run-lower burlesque house. Think of the three strippers from "Gypsy" facing the Red-colored Menace, and you've got the brand new musical "Burlesque." There's definite talent and skill at the office here, but insufficient originality and rigor pull the rug from underneath the amusingly intriguing premise. Composer and co-author Adam Meggido stays towards the familiar. As is appropriate for his 1952 setting, he crafts "Burlesque" like a book musical full of stock figures in the annals of showbiz folk. Managing things are Freddie Le Roy (a properly gentle Linal Haft), the maturing theater owner by having an eye for that women. Plus there is hard-bitten, privately lovelorn older lady Lula Malkah (Buster Skeggs), who manages the women, all of whom will get just one motivation, an chance to stipulate her plight in song, and very little else. To date, so sweetly nostalgic. However, Freddie's theater is around the edge of closure because burlesque is moving from the stage and into nightclubs. The comedy act is around the skids since lead comic Johnny Reno (a wisecracking Jon-Paul Hevey) continues to be named like a Communist -- signal a lot of gags about comics versus. Commies. Johnny, whose brush with Communism was entirely accidental, sings about how exactly politics don't matter to him. All he and the comedy partner "Rags" Ryan (Chris Holland) want would be to "allow it to be.Inch But it is blindingly obvious that Johnny's naivete will not save him, particularly when "the Feds" decide to try going to him in the theater and press him into naming names. Is he going to stand facing oppression or compromise in order to save his career and also the child he will have with stripper Honey Hogan (Alicia Davies)? Using cliche within the book, co-compiled by Roy Smiles, is clearly a conscious make an effort to downside familiarity while going into politics. But neither the dialogue nor the background music effectively handle the lurches in tone between your two emotions. The contrast between, for instance, period-style Andrews Siblings-esque trios and angst-ridden energy ballads of private determination is awkward. The multiplicity of figures, diet program whom have equal weight, implies that superficial portrayal lacks convincing detail. The well-intentioned drama remains excessively signaled and underdeveloped. Around the plus side, Meggido shows his work off and away to most effective advantage. Martin Thomas and lighting designer Howard Hudson turn the shoebox-sized Jermyn Street stage into an atmospheric theater, and also the strong-voiced cast, backed by spry musical plans for piano, percussion and woodwind, provide the material its full due. The deft construction of the several plot elements in to the opening musical sequence is sufficient to indicate Meggido's knowledge of musical theater. Sons of Anarchy Boss on Season 4 Finale: Clay Experienced a "Fate Worse Than Dying"
Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman [WARNING: The following story includes major spoilers within the Season 4 finale of FX's Sons of Anarchy. Read in the own risk.] There's virtually only one question on audiences minds heading into Sons of Anarchy's Season 4 finale: Was Clay prone to die? Sons of Anarchy's Ron Perlman: I'm unsure Clay had any choice He certainly attempted enough to deserve it. This season alone, Clay (Ron Perlman) involved SAMCRO in drug-running for your Galindo cartel, destroyed one of the club's founding folks Piney (William Lucking), bought popular on Jax's old lady Tara (Maggie Siff) and beat their very own wife Gemma (Katey Sagal) with a bloody pulp. Oh, and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) finally learned that Clay conspired in the past to kill Jax's father. Yet, since the season's final hour unspooled, Clay, who ongoing to become inside the hospital after being shot by Piney's boy, Opie (Ryan Hurst), used to be more in a position to escape. When Jax discovered that Galindo has existed cahoots while using CIA the whole time, he's expected to keep Clay alive to have the ability to broker the arms deal between Galindo as well as the Irish Nobleman. But creator Kurt Sutter states Clay experienced a "fate worse than dying": Jax has formally absorbed as leader of SAMCRO, draining Clay from the products mattered most to him. Inside our Q&A below, Sutter defends his decision to keep both Clay and Juice (Theo Rossi) alive this season and weighs in at in at in on Gemma and Tara's fight for Jax's heart. Plus: Are you going to things stand between Opie and Jax in Season 5? Exclusive: Sons of Anarchy's Theo Rossi talks Juice's [SPOILER!] It made an appearance within the midpoint of the year that Clay required to die. Why did you choose to keep him alive? Sutter: Clearly, I like the level of smoothness but Ron just brings a gravitas for the show and, quite honestly, I did not want that disappear yet. However imagine there's more story to see out since Jax has these particulars [about Clay]. [Killing him] just made an appearance as being a waste in my opinion. Why only have the information for starters episode after which it kill Clay? In my opinion that type of diffuses and removes the effectiveness of people secrets. I didn't desire to throw that away. I discovered that round the Shield, when Vic understood that Shane destroyed Lem but he couldn't do just about anything relating to this. That season only decided to contain exceptional f---ing tension using these males who've been broken and ripped apart relating to this, but they have to get available and interact. ... So, I merely felt it absolutely was really fertile ground for story. There's some good sh-- to see by helping cover their the happy couple of these requiring to possess this secret together. However, you probably did seem to suggest toward Clay's dying so desperately. Let us say fans feel cheated? Sutter: Oh, In my opinion people happen to be pissed he wasn't dead [after being shot by Opie]. But that's all great, guy. I like the fact people are that committed and blocked in psychologically. However believe that once they start to see the struggle that Jax has - it is not like Jax out of the blue forgives [Clay].Jax would love simply to keep pushing that knife into [Clay's] throat. In my opinion people may be frustrated, however frustration is really a shared frustration with Jax. And Clay didn't leave the finale completely untouched. Sutter: Right. For an individual like Clay being reduced with a guy who's wounded and vulnerable and contains his f---ing patch ripped away? It's much like a fate worse than dying for Clay. It's the humiliation from this all. It's like he's literally been f---ing neutered. ... For just about any guy as hard to ensure that as alpha as Clay, it's worse than if [Jax] just f---ing slit his throat. Sons of Anarchy Season 4: Is SAMCRO failing? Let's talk of why Clay remains alive: The finale also revealed the Galindo cartel is coping with the CIA. Sutter: We understood we'd do that within the jump. And i am wanting in the event you return and look for every scene that Romeo [Danny Trejo] had immediately, we laid clues in throughout. We didn't tell the story with techniques you may realise back and go, "Wait about a minute, that does not appear sensible.Inch Everything type of falls into position and it is sensible. And even though that relationship is keeping Clay alive, furthermore, it in a position to escape SAMCRO from Potter's RICO sting. Sutter: I like the one factor that jeopardized all the police attempts this season was other police. It absolutely was Potter [Ray McKinnon], who jeopardized Eli [Rockmond Dunbar], and have been ultimately the CIA that jeopardized Potter. I like the undeniable fact that the complications as well as the political an entire world of the justice method is a unique f---ing outlaw organization that's constantly shooting itself inside the ft. Clay isn't the main character to cheat dying this season. Maybe you have you will want Juice's suicide attempt work? Sutter: I did so weigh both options. The fact remains, I feltlike once we did that to Juice, ultimately the Piney scene would likely low on weight. That was the dying in my opinion that we made the decision out forever in the series. I felt like, "Essentially do all of people males, I is going to do all of them a injustice. ... But that stuff doesn't disappear. Juice remains dealing with the guilt from the products he did. That particulars continue to be available and will also be available for people to take advantage of, whether it appears sensible. Have a look at photos in the Sons of Anarchy cast Piney's dying introduced Opie towards the forefront, especially his problems with Jax. What should we type of Opie's absence while dining inside the final scene? Sutter: It really felt too convenient for everything to fall in place with Jax. Which I like the reality that if you hear that door open, you assume it's Opie, but it's Tara. I understood I'd type of leave Opie available undecided. It doesn't mean he's written Jax off or he's vanishing, nevertheless it means he is not ready to use and spend some time at this table. We'll be capable of play that out next season. When you mentioned, Tara appears for Jax within the finish. Because moment, has she finally beaten Gemma inside the fight for Jax? Sutter: That is certainly a disagreement. ... Tara might be the main one now within the mind of the table with Jax. Gemma did not realize that coming. She just assumed they would be capable of manipulate and everybody in line which she would be the one behind her boy. But out of the blue there is the threat from the new full. So, we have to see out a little much more of this fight in the matriarchs next season. It's much like Gemma type of created her Frankenstein. And Tara retains some apple on Gemma that Jax is unaware of.Sutter: I certainly believe that it is leverage that Tara has, which allows her to own that defiance. Gemma was smart enough to get rid of evidence, but Tara has some leverage over Gemma and Gemma must navigate around that. It's a more interesting strategy to use for Season 5. It's less about Gemma saying, "Okay, how do i eliminate Tara?" It must be about, "How can you bring Tara closer? How can won by you her back?" That's an even more difficult skill for Gemma than f---ing striking someone inside the mind getting a skateboard. With Gemma and Clay both being pressed in the number of buddies just a little, you think they'll reunite in exile? Sutter: I am unsure. There's a part of me that thinks as f---erection dysfunction up since it is... ultimately this kind of person just supposed to have been together no matter exactly what the harm is. Too as with an unusual way plenty of occasions people associations are fixed. However I believe, "Am i doing the story a injustice by doing that?" In my opinion they are naturally connected with each other because of the secrets, therefore i think there will continually be a ongoing relationship together. I'm just under sure what which will appear like. Will there be room for Unser (Dayton Calllie) to finally be described as a real player because strange triangular? Sutter: It absolutely was a good deal fun to accomplish to type of put him in the heart of the whole Clay and Gemma factor also to participate in a couple of from the background dynamic between him and Gemma. I don't always think he and Gemma will probably connect, however believe that relationship continues and participate in. So he'll easily be around which we always finish off finding something fun for the character. Foreign exchange orders a 13-episode fifth season of Sons of Anarchy Tig looked somewhat angry about losing his chair as Sergeant at Arms. Could he fight Jax?Sutter: Tig has continues to be Clay's guy. I didn't desire to leave everybody in absolute conflict with Clay. I felt like he needed a buddy. And even though Tig may be wrong, Clay includes one or more guy who loves him. And, clearly, Tig seems to own started a significant nasty beef while using Niners. Sutter: I desired to create something if this involves tension whenever Jax will get control within the mind from the club. We'll begin with some sense of immediacy plus some form of threat. Which I do not exactly know very well what which will be yet, however did desire to lay some track and then we can hit the ground running with something next season. This Year's season, you described this finale felt similar to a collection finale. You think that may help you to reinvent the show next season?Sutter: It's a reinvention if this involves people responsibilities and roles within the club. But also for me, it's type of the conclusion from the act. I famous for the conclusion of the year that individuals were going to b ... more reflective finish. And I am unsure this certainly, however almost get yourself a sense that possibly this next act of Sons may have many that dynamic. Much less it won't have action and be just what the show is, however i am okay once the show features a different energy. We've a great deal emotionality that people have revealed between these figures. People moments which dynamic can't happen as quickly. They almost have to happen reduced because of there being much more to digest. So, what can the truth is in your mind in the next act?Sutter: If only to [focus on] which type of leader Jax will probably be. ... Which father will Jax emulate within the mind of the table? Can he function as guy and fulfill his father's vision, which is always to turn the club around which makes it legitimate? Or could he ultimately just become Clay. Personally, it is actually: Can Jax replace Clay without becoming Clay? Whoever else consider the finale?

Can golf thrive without Tiger?
Tiger WoodsIt remains almost couple of years since Tiger Forest was involved with one-vehicle accident outdoors his estate inside the classy Isleworth enclave of Orlando. His personal existence has switched completely, and also the game of golf derailed. He's had health issues too, and contains not won a tournament since using the BMW Championship in September 2009 his last victory inside a major was the 2008 U.S. Open. And many would say Forest has already established the organization of public golf with him lower to the bunker.Even though sport's core aud of trendy males 35-64 remains substantial (plus an attractive one to find the best-finish entrepreneurs), golf has lost a sizable chunk in the more casual audiences, including women, who'd stay updated only to see Forest to use it. This really is frequently noticed in the viewership amounts within the last couple of years, that don't effectively exactly fresh fresh paint a rosy picture. For instance in 2008, some-day Nielsens for your U.S. Open (which seeping over in to a fifth day that featured a playoff between Forest, your world's top-rated golfer, and Rocco Mediate) cumed a scintillating 47.9 million audiences on NBC and ESPN. The next couple of years, as Woods' game began to founder, U.S. Open ratings showed up at about 37 million audiences. Which year, through which Forest did not play, total audiences for your four-day event fell to 30.2 million. In golf, lower scores are desirable in TV ratings for golf, though, less.Normally, almost always there is the chance Forest could possibly get healthy, re-uncover his swing and claw his sometime ago up. His game for your U.S. within the recent President's Cup shown flashes.Woods' recognition am singular it's difficult to make use of whatever player capable of getting his layer.Luke Jesse from the United kingdom might be the very best-ranked player Steve Strickler, at No. 4, might be the very best American. Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, at No. 3, is becoming plenty of publicity. But tend to one lure casual fans to check out?InchThere is nobody that we recognize at this time around (to switch Tiger)," states Art Spander, San Fran sports author and longtime golf author. "The PGA Tour keeps throwing names for you, trying out people. Rory McIlroy seems as being a good kid, having a couple of charisma. However don't think Us citizens follows him like doing Tiger."Still, the fitness of golf is all about perception in the "glass half full or half empty" kind of way. The PGA examines a tournament as two occasions as interesting when Forest takes part, nevertheless the public examines one without him as only half as interesting, States Darren Rovell, sports business analyst for CNBC: "People may define the health of golf as when Tiger is playing perfectly. Nevertheless the PGA Tour doesn't notice by doing this.InchThe strange factor is, the PGA will have a point. In September, the PGA Tour introduced it had made the decision to contract extensions with NBC and Golf Funnel (both possessed by Comcast) and CBS that last until 2021, despite Woods' uncertain future. As the deals were not revealed, affiliates the PGA handled to attain increases over its existing deals. An important reason behind your may be due to the meteoric rise in sports rights. While ratings frequently decrease for many sports because of audiences moving with other kinds of entertainment, that migration doesn't seem to become reflected in sports-rights costs. For instance, in May, NCAA football's Pac-12 conference signed a 12-year contract with ESPN and Fox for close to $3 billion, the greatest rights package for just about any college sports league. In September, ESPN as well as the Nfl introduced an eight-year extension worth $1.9 billion every year, a 72% increase inside the average cost in the current deal. Too as with late October, Telemundo and Fox scooped World Cup soccer rights inside the U.S. for north of $1 billion -- greater than two occasions what Univision and ESPN happen to be needing to pay -- for four competitions, beginning in 2015."I don't think (golf) is because bad from the position," Rovell states. "They wound up obtaining a rights costs increase." Though he allows the hike is "more an problem that TV rights generally tend to be valuable than anything getting associated with Tiger."Ty Votaw, the PGA's executive v . p . of communications, states the PGA Tour works in the different enterprize model than most sports, getting a distinctive major sponsorship mix including financial institutions, insurance companies, vehicle producers, pharmaceutical firms and golf equipment producers."Entrepreneurs wish to be associated with this sport because of the conventional within our audience," Votaw states, adding the PGA Tour does not have ratings guarantees within the television deals.Despite the fact that the normal golf audience may skew older than people of all other sports, Kaira Adgate, senior v . p ./director of research at Horizon Media, states the requirement of brand recognition ultimately surpasses census. In addition, the PGA Tour states its cumulative ratings for telecasts on CBS and NBC this year are up 7% over last season, or even more 17% round the Golf Funnel. So ultimately, when the sport, or its most broadly used player, will discover its way in the rough -- or whether it already has -- depends how one examines it, and who's doing the searching. This largely China-bankrolled adaptation from the Taiwanese novel can be obtained largely to celebrate the advantages of the country that lies between its beginning point and destination, despite the fact that the thin story virtually works considerably, it's overshadowed with the extreme-travel sales sales brochure imagery and political agenda. Pay TV Industry Customer Counts Nearly Unchanged in Third Quarter
NY - Third-quarter earnings season saw large openly exchanged cable, satellite television and telecom companies add about 146,000 pay TV customers, while customers rejected minimally industry-wide when including more compact and independently-held firms. Most on Wall Street begin to see the trends as positive among cord cutting fears that began about last year, despite the fact that they are saying current industry momentum is certainly not to brag about. Starting the most recent quarterly earnings season, Wall Street experts had a variety of different anticipation, but agreed that video customer trends may likely improve within the year-ago trends and also over another-quarter drop. Based on research firm SNL Kagan, whose information is broadly used, the U.S. multi-funnel world lost 32,000 customers within the third quarter, falling from the total of 100.113 million in the finish of June to 100.081 million in the finish of September. "The pay TV industry seems to possess returned back from the dismal second quarter," stated Wells Fargo analyst Marci Ryvicker inside a recent report. "The pay TV industry published strong results, while Netflix lost 800,000 customers which we feel should help assuage investor concerns that "cord-cutting" is definitely an immediate secular challenge. Nevertheless, we feel the pay TV industry will probably remain a zero-sum game one of the incumbent gamers before the economy and housing industry more be fully cured.Inch Barclays Capital analyst James Ratcliffe's conclusion from third-quarter earnings season similarly was that housing weakness remains the dominant element in video sub performance. "U.S. pay TV subscribership was basically flat within the third quarter," he authored in the review. "We still think that the minimal pay TV customer growth we're seeing within the U.S. marketplace is mainly driven by conditions within the housing industry instead of cord cutting, as transmission rates, whilst not rising, are basically unchanged." Ryvicker believed another-quarter lack of 31,000 customers among all video operators - private and public. That even compares to her calculation of 464,000 sub deficits within the second quarter, or 458,000 based on data from SNL Kagan. The slight decline seemed to be much better than the 119,000 sub drop, based on Ryvicker, or 130,000 based on SNL Kagan, within the third quarter of 2010. "The advance was mainly because of better satellite (+216,000, versus -109,000 within the second quarter and +145,000 within the third quarter 2010) and cable (-584,000, versus -771,000 within the second quarter and -741,000 within the third quarter of 2010) results, each of which were on a consecutive and year-over-year basis," Ryvicker stated. "Telco adds (+337,000 versus +416,000 within the second quarter and +477,000 within the third quarter of 2010) were less strong." But Ryvicker contended that "this may be a 1-time 'lip" like a strike at Verizon would be a continue results. Comcast, the biggest U.S. cable firm, and Time Warner Cable were among individuals cable operators that reported narrower declines within the latest period. http://world wide web.hollywoodreporter.com/news/time-warner-cable-third-quarter-25... Within the satellite television space, strong gains from DirecTV due simply to the promotion of free National football league Sunday Ticket to new customers offset a 111,000 decline at Dish Network, which arrived greater than the usual 29,000 year-ago loss, but was much better than some observers' anxiety about a 150,000 customer decrease. DirecTV's addition of 327,000 U.S. pay TV clients within the third quarter in comparison with 174,000 around-ago period and marked the business's most powerful third-quarter showing in seven years. "DirecTV was an anomaly because of their...National football league Sunday Ticket for any year promo," informed Burns Tabak analyst David Joyce though. Overall, "the nearly 400,000 customers who left pay TV within the second quarter didn't return, nor has unemployment enhanced," he added. Pay TV industry customer amounts dropped the very first time ever within the second quarter of 2010, with SNL Kagan confirming a 246,000 decline, starting off the cord cutting debate over whether U.S. customers were searching to cheaper online choices to replace their monthly pay TV bills. The drop within the third quarter of this past year appeared to verify investor fears, however two quarters of growth settled concerns. Experts expect the to determine no major moves either in direction within the near-term. "Essentially, we still see the U.S. pay TV market as stable, but even without the coming back to some more normal degree of household formation (a million-1.5 million each year), the marketplace remains essentially zero sum," Ratcliffe came to the conclusion. Jason Segel on The Muppets, Their Evolution, and Frank Oz's Criticism
Jason Segel claims he cried when “meeting” Kermit the Frog for the first time, but the self-declared Muppets purist does not sound like a lachrymose superfan when explaining his update of Jim Henson’s brand. As the co-writer and star of The Muppets (out Nov. 23), Segel proves his Muppet mettle with a slick, but classically jovial take on the old troupe. Its swiftness is reminiscent of charming ’90s efforts like A Muppet Christmas Carol while Amy Adams and Chris Cooper’s performances smack of the original Muppet trilogy’s celebrity gusto; the Muppets themselves even conjure the old-school showmanship of the immortal The Muppet Show. I caught up with Segel to discuss his favorite Muppets, the best Muppet Show host ever, and how he feels about Frank Oz’s less-than-optimistic commentary. You balance kid humor and adult humor well in The Muppets. I can’t even remember the last live-action “family film” that’s tried to do that. You know who does it well is Pixar. Toy Story 3 is the perfect example. Kids were watching a movie about saying goodbye to their toys, and parents were watching a movie about saying goodbye to their kids. Parents and kids are both weeping for totally separate reasons. The parents are crying harder than the kids are, you know? So I thought they nailed it. I think The Simpsons has kind of nailed it too. Kids are watching a fun cartoon show; they have Bart and Lisa. Their parents have Homer and Marge. But there aren’t too many examples. The big mistake is that a family film has somehow come to mean a kids’ film. It shouldn’t. Those are two separate things. I’m sure Muppet zealots have quizzed you on your favorite characters. Do you have a thrillingly bizarre Muppet that you consider a favorite? I do get asked that a lot. I wish there was an answer that would make me seem cool — a really subversive, like obscure Muppet. But it’s Kermit. And Fozzie, but it started with Kermit for me. He was the everyman for a kid. He was Tom Hanks or Jimmy Stewart or something. I really wanted to be like Kermit. There was something about Fozzie Bear that I related to, the total unearned confidence. Even if he’s getting booed, he’s like, “Aaaah! Wakka, wakka!” And he just keeps going with the jokes. [Laughs.] I always liked that aspect, being undaunted by failure. I really liked The Muppet Show’s presence in the movie. Very unexpected. Who’s your favorite Muppet Show host? Peter Sellers. I remember watching the Peter Sellers episode when I was young, and it didn’t really mean that much to me. I didn’t really know Peter Sellers well. Then, I remember watching it as I was older, and I was a huge fan then — he starts that episode with the weirdest monologue of all time where he has this existential crisis after Kermit’s like, “All you have to do is be yourself!” And [Sellers] is like, “Who’s the real Peter Sellers? I lost the real Peter Sellers sometime ago.” I remember thinking, “Of course I didn’t get this when I was a kid. And this is the funniest thing ever.” The best comedian of our generation is — because I know he really felt that way from reading about him. He’s having a total existential crisis in front of a bunch of Muppets on The Muppet Show. It was awesome. It was like he was talking to a psychiatrist. Walter, a new Muppet who acts as your brother in the movie, is a very big presence. How did you feel about introducing a new Muppet that ends up getting more screentime than regulars like Rowlf and Gonzo? Walter was an important vehicle in that he’s the eyes and the ears of the true Muppets fans. He’s like how I felt — the biggest Muppet fan, so wide-eyed, can’t wait to meet them, and he’s devastated to find out they’re not as famous as they used to be. He’s terrified at the notion they could go away forever, which I was. He sets out to reunite the Muppets and put them on a show to bring them back. It’s such a thinly veiled metaphor, what’s happening in this movie. But Walter was important because kids of the new generation might not be that familiar with the Muppets. They get to be introduced to them through sort of an accessible, childlike character. That’s Walter’s function. The current generation of teenage/kid moviegoers may not have any familiarity with the Muppets. What’s it like to cater to them? We didn’t have to change the tone of the Muppets at all. In fact, we reverted back to the late ’70s, early ’80s tone of the Muppets. We tried to go hardcore back to the original tone, because something like The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz is not indicative of the tone of those Muppets. That’s like a Muppet-themed movie. That’s not what the Muppets did when I grew up with them. The only thing we had to adjust from that era was pacing. Kids’ attention spans have gotten a little shorter. If you watch the first Muppet movie, it’s slow. It’s the pace of ’70s movies. So one thing we had to do is be pretty strict about keeping it 90 minutes and keeping it a decent pace. But that’s all. Like those old movies, this one is very scenic — and it’s definitely a love letter to LA. As an LA resident, I feel like the tourist destinations here are often the last place I want to take visitors, but those places are prominently and attractively featured here. How did you feel about “casting” LA as a character in The Muppets? We wanted — and we ended up not making it as heavy a plot point as we envisioned it, because it was too big a tangent and we had so many plots going on — but we really wanted to juxtapose a small town perception of glamorous LA with gritty LA. We wanted stuff to be run down; we had a scene where when they first arrive, they get ripped off by a homeless guy in a Superman outfit in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre. You know, we had those jokes! I grew up in LA and I love it very much, but I feel sort of the way you do that the nice places in LA aren’t necessarily the tourist destinations. So, the idea of these guys being so enthusiastic about the LA they’ve seen in movies and being confronted with the fact that LA’s seedy was funny. Jim Henson is not just Christlike to Muppet devotees — his whole demeanor was downright messianic. Did his rather commanding presence haunt or linger over you? What it did was inform us — so much. We weren’t trying to recreate anything or fill anyone’s shoes. It was more just honoring the legacy he created. What he “preached” with the Muppets, to use your analogy, is very clear. They’re kind, they haven’t lose their sense of childlike wonder, and they’re not even trying to destroy their villains. They’re trying to reform their villains. They’re trying to get their villains to come along. In the first Muppet Movie, Doc Hopper [Charles Durning] was running a frogs legs franchise. He wanted to cut off Kermit’s legs and eat them, but Kermit doesn’t even want to destroy him. He says, “You should think about why you don’t have close friends in your life.” So the road map was really clear as laid about by Jim Henson and Frank Oz. We just had to follow it. Finally, Frank Oz recently criticized the script of the film. Do you regard his comments and think he might just feel precious about the characters evolving? Yeah. I also just wished he had seen the movie. I mean, you saw it. I don’t think you walk away feeling anything but that it’s a total love letter to the Muppets. I get being scared of some new blood coming in, and thinking, “What are they going to do to this?” But I have a hunch that if he sees it, he’s going to walk out feeling really proud of having creating this legacy.

The 'Project X' Trailer: The Found-Footage Teen Sex Rave You've Been Waiting For
.post-content img {display:none;} What do you get when you combine the found-footage genre with MTV's version of 'Skins' and 'Hangover' producer Todd Phillips? Apparently, 'Project X,' a quasi-found-footage teen romp about a high school party gone ridiculously awry. Think: flamethrowers out of 'Bellflower,' minimally dressed girls, and the geeky leads from your favorite teen comedies. Fun? It's unclear. The trailer is certainly loud, though! It's like a commercial for an energy drink or body spray. As Slashfilm reports, test screening audiences are comparing 'Project X' -- with its cast of mostly no-name non-stars, as Phillips wanted -- to 'Superbad,' which is just plain wrong. At least judging from the trailer. After all, where's the "These Eyes" part? 'Project X' arrives in theaters on March 2, 2012. Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple. John Carney May Tame Dogs Of Babel
With Steve Carell still attached...When music-fuelled romantic drama Once hit it big back in 2006, you might have expected writer/director John Carney to be snapped up to direct some work on some Hollywood project starring a big name. But instead, he opted to handle a remake of his own comedy short Zonad before switching tracks for supernatural drama The Rafters. Now, though, he might be on to a bigger job, entering final negotiations to direct Dogs Of Babel. We talked about the project back in February, when Steve Carell first became attached. Don't go worrying that this is going to be some huge action comedy, though: Dogs is a rather more maudlin drama about a linguistics professor investigating his wife's death. You see, while the police consider her death an accident, Paul Iverson (Carell) thinks otherwise. And with the couple's dog Lorelei the only living witness to the incident, Iverson begins to try to teach her to speak so she can reveal what really happened. It's an odd premise, adapted from Carolyn Parkhurst's novel by writer Jamie Linden. There's no word on when it'll start shooting, but if Carney locks in a deal, that should put it on track for filming next year.

Can You Guess the Stock Music Cue Used in the New Trailer for 'Hugo'?
.post-content img {display:none;} Following the release of the Harold Lloyd-inspired new poster for 'Hugo,' Paramount has unfurled a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Martin Scorsese film, which removes one of the most controversial aspects of the initial marketing campaign: the 30 Seconds to Mars song "Kings & Queens." What has that catchy -- albeit time period inappropriate selection -- been replaced with on the trailer soundtrack? Hint: it's a stock music cue that you heard in a trailer for one of 2010's Best Picture nominees. It's from 'The Fighter'! The song is actually called "Breath and Life" by the stock music company Audiomachine, which specializes in trailer music. (Audiomachine has been featured in trailers for 'Harry Potter,' 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' 'Warrior,' 'Captain America' and many, many more.) 'Hugo,' which features original music from Howard Shore, and stars Ben Kingsley, Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Michael Stuhlbarg and Asa Butterfield as the titular Hugo, arrives in theaters on Nov. 23. As this trailer suggests, it's not as much of a kids' movie as the earlier marketing indicated. Watch in HD over at Apple. Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED

Desperate Housewives' James Denton: It's Fun Returning to Mike's More dark, More Harmful Side
James Denton For many ex-cons, just as one accessory to murder would not be something to celebrate. However for Mike Delfino (James Denton) on Desperate Average women, learning that Susan had assisted Carlos hide killing Gaby's stepfather was, oddly, an enormous sigh of relief. "It had been great news for him. Clearly, it's a bit disturbing due to what went down, however i think the worst news for him could have been the affair he was convinced Susan and Carlos were getting," Denton informs TVGuide.com. "I believe he was more relieved than anything." Did Mike and Susan result in the cut? See who made our listing of best TV couples Yes, try as she might, the always subtle Susan (who're we kidding?) wound up spilling the beans to Mike in the finish of last week's episode. Although his previous existence in jail (for wrongful death and dealing drugs) means the stakes are high if the murder - and the understanding from it -- be uncovered, Mike's time around the wrong side from the law can help his wife fight her very own devils. "He feels as though they know how to approach it. So you will see some drama, so far as how Susan thinks they ought to handle it, and Mike thinks they ought to handle it because he's had the experience before," Denton states. "Then it is only a matter of the way they handle the strain from it, and him helping her cope with getting this baggage. Susan's inclination would be to discuss it a great deal - which will be the worst factor she could do - in order to not cope with it whatsoever, so he needs to help her." After Susan (Teri Hatcher) started likely to great measures to appease her nagging guilt by searching for punitive measures - i.e. handcuffing herself for failing to remember to cover soda and ripping up an image of the police officer's newborn - Susan needs all of the help she will get. "That's among their causes of conflict, is when she needs to have a low profile and essentially not act in love with it and never draw lots of focus on it," he states. "A few of their conflict is him attempting to keep her under control by using it.Inch Catch on Desperate Average women with this episode recaps Since they know the reality, Mike won't suffer from Susan, but additionally Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira). In the end, Susan would not have tried the coverage-up been with them not been for him. "The very best stuff for me personally includes Ricardo. Carlos and Mike happen to be buddies for any very long time so that they suffer from this," Denton states. "Ricardo's an excellent actor, and you will find there's really close relationship therefore it is fun for all of us to get at interact and do this type of stuff. I believe the crowd will appreciate that men need to work these items out. We did not just ignore they have a large history." On-screen, Mike's new understanding can lead to some issues with Susan with Carlos, but off-screen, Denton is reveling in the opportunity to revisit his character's bad boy side which was upon the market sometime ago in support of his role as doting husband and father. "The smoothness was a lot more interesting the initial few years," he states. "It's fun to help remind people who this person, at some point, would be a really mysterious, interesting character that you simply could not quite put your finger on. So for the reason that respect, Susan getting Mike in it is fun for me personally.Inch "He's a bit more harmful, just a little more dark." Desperate Average women airs Sunday at 9/8c on ABC. Cinemark Denied Rehearing In Cinemas Palme DOr Lawsuit
An independent exhibitor going up against Cinemark notched another victory as an appeals court issued another ruling in its favor. Flagship Theatres of Palm Desert, owner of the 10-screenCinemas Palme d’Or,claims that Cinemark uses its market muscle to force the studios to deny the independent theater the films that moviegoers want to see. Last week, theCalifornia State Court of Appeals denied a motion by Cinemark for a rehearing. The appeals court ruled last month to reinstate the suit after State Superior Court dismissed it in 2008. Cinemas Palme d’Or co-owner Steve Mason said thecase has a chance to preserve independent theaters nationwide.Instead of receiving a proportion of available film product, we got virtually no meaningful film product. Absolutely nothing, except for very small releases,” Mason said. “Cinemark is huge, and the fact that 91% of its theaters are in non-competitive zones gives them real monopolized leverage. They have the power to shut down independent theaters wherever they do business. Flagship Theaters wants to show thatCinemark engages in circuit dealing, in which an owner ofmultiple theaters uses its combined purchasing power to bid for films rather than bidding competitively for each of its theaters. Its lawsuit claims Cinemark’s Century Theaters gets higher-quality films for its Century 15 at the River theater, located in Rancho Mirage less than two miles from Palme DOr, at less cost because of its size.Top distribution executives from major studios are expected to testify when the suit goes to trial in Los Angeles Superior Court.

BBC Worldwide, RAI win 'Baila!' suit
ROME -- A Rome court on Monday ruled in favor of BBC Worldwide and Italo pubcaster RAI in their copyright infringement suit against Mediaset over dance show "Baila!," forcing Mediaset to make some last-minute changes before debuting the show on the air. Rome judge Gabrielle Muscolo ruled that Mediaset could not air the show with "some of the characteristics described by Mediaset in its written deposition." This prompted Italian media to initially report that Mediaset would pull the planned first airing of "Baila!" outright. But Mediaset, after much deliberation, in an afternoon statement announced that the show would air Monday night, as planned, on its Canale 5 flagship station, but taking careful note of a list of unspecified objections made by the Rome court. These stemmed from accusations of plagiarism. BBC and RAI claimed in their suit that "Baila!" would have illegally copied the BBC's "Dancing With the Stars" format. Monday's ruling was hailed as "historic" by RAI attorney Giorgio Assumma, who commented that it "will help regulate TV competition." Mediaset instead called the decision "unfair and erroneous," vowing to appeal "urgently" and requesting that it be annulled. The top Italian commercial broadcaster noted that the ruling was made without anyone "having seen even one minute of the new show, which will air tonight on Canale 5," read the statement. " 'Baila!' will carefully abide by all the objections raised by the Rome court, confident that they will subsequently swiftly cease to exist," the statement continued. The statement did not specify the types of changes Mediaset made to the show. "Baila!" is an Endemol format adapted from Televisa's popular Latin American format "Bailando por un sueno" (Dancing for a Dream). Mediaset has said that Endemol, from which it purchased the "Baila!" format, has guaranteed that it's original. In rejecting accusations of plagiarism Mediaset VP Pier Silvio Berlusconi has said that a key difference between the two shows is that "Baila!" pairs stars with amateur dancers, unlike "Dancing With the Stars," where celebs partner with pros. "Dancing With the Stars" is among the world's most successful reality TV format, licensed to more than 35 broadcasters. 'The Big C' Finale Preview: Familiar Faces Return and Cathy Isn't Afraid of Death
Ken Regan/Showtime"The Big C" Laura Linney's Cathy Jamison has had heart-breaking year on Season 2 of Showtime's The Big C. As Cathy has achieved positive results from Dr. Sherman's (Alan Alda) clinical trial, her trial buddy Lee (Hugh Dancy) didn't have the same luck and passed away in the last week's penultimate episode of the season. Meanwhile, Paul (Oliver Platt) has spiraled downward after losing his job and finding new employment on the retail side, turning to stealing and drug use to survive. On top of everything, her brother Sean (John Benjamin Hickey) has struggled to maintain his sanity and skipped town only to return at the moment in time when Cathy needs him the most. Ahead of the Season 2 finale, executive producer Jenny Bicks tells The Hollywood Reporter how Lee's death will affect Cathy and who from Cathy's past viewers can expect to see in Monday's finale on Showtime. THR: How will Lee's death change Cathy? Bicks: Lee's death allows Cathy to realize two things: that death is not necessarily scary -- there can be kind of a peace with going. That's something that we see in the way that Lee chooses to die, it's almost heroic: he goes the way he wants to go. If you can call such an awful thing lovely, it's almost a lovely thing for her to witness. She witnesses grace, really. She becomes more comfortable and less scared with the possibility of dying. The other thing that she realizes anew is how little time we all have on this Earth. What she says in the finale, that she's "just going to wear this body out," she really wants to make the most of being here and she decides to run a marathon, which is the last thing that Lee had said he wanted to do before he died. She runs it for him to test herself and her will. It's the ending to a season that's been all about her fighting, pushing and running that's ultimately about her slowing down. As Lee described it before he died, a marathon really slows you down and keeps you in the moment. That's what she's going to learn in the finale. THR: Paul has really transformed this season from being the "cancerierge" to a screw-up of sorts. His moral compass has really disintegrated this season. Will his misdeeds and drug use catch up with him? Bicks: There are always consequences to everything and Paul has really gone off the deep end. He may want, with all honorable intentions, come back from that but it might be too late. STORY: 'The Big C' Spoilers: Three People Are Going to Die THR: You've previously told us that three people were going to die this season and Rebecca and Sean's unborn baby and Lee have died. Is that still the case? Bicks: By the end of the season, our third person will pass over. We try very hard on the show that if we set up a consequence that we follow through on it. THR: Sean (John Benjamin Hickey) returned just as Cathy returned home after watching Lee die. What shape is Sean in? Bicks: We don't spend a lot of time with him before the season is over but he's recommitted to being back. The same that Cathy has learned from Lee, Sean has learned from Cathy: if she can stay and fight, I'm going to stop running. It's all about stopping running and standing still and he's going to try to be as sane as he can be and be in one place even without his girlfriend and the baby that they lost and all the pain. He's going to try to muscle through because if Cathy can do it, he can do it. He's going to try and rise to the occasion. It's Sean, I don't know how successful he's going to be but certainly short-term, he's going to try and be present. 'The Big C': John Benjamin Hickey on Sean's Moment of Clarity THR: How will Adam (Gabriel Basso) handle Poppy's (Parker Posey) betrayal? How will that relationship change him? Bicks: A lot of this relationship for him has really been about playing the grownup to her child. We really didn't want it to be sexual because we wanted it to be truthful and honest about two people relating over the pain of having a sick or, as we find out, dead parent and that he's really able to take care of her. That allows him to become much more empathetic, not just to her but to his mom and the whole situation. We're definitely going to see a growing up of Adam; it doesn't mean that in Season 3 he's going to be a different person. He's still a 15-year-old kid in high school. You're going to see him really trying his best to grow up and be the best person he can be. People don't just change, they go back and forth: so he'll take a couple steps forward and a couple steps backward. THR: Will Cathy continue with the clinical trial in light of Lee's death? Will Alan Alda return? Bicks: Our hope is that she continues with the trial; it's doing well for her so she wouldn't be taken off the drugs. We'll be lucky to grab Alan Alda for as many episodes as we can get him. He's the antithesis to the other doctors she's seen. We're hopeful that she'll stay in the trial and have promising results from it. THR: Will Lee be back for the finale? Bicks: You'll also see Lee in the finale and you will see Marlene (Phyllis Somerville) in the finale. We really want to always raise these questions of what happens. These people stay with you even after they're gone in different forms and [explore] what that means. Check out a preview of The Big C's Season 2 finale below.
