Please help: Lesson under processed words, borrowed words, and 20th century words?

Each contains words that have common characteristics. Eliminate the
word that does not belong in the series.

1. POP, CHED, DDT, GSIS, MWSS

2. DNA, SSS, RNA, DDT

3. Scandal, jingle, yoga, window, bungalow

4. pin-up, brassierre, fiber optics, mwah, winter

5. conspicuous, legal, pac-man, solar

    Can someone explain me why window is the answer for number 3 and why winter for number 4. My teacher said that those are the answers, she based on the book she is using but she cannot explain it.
